When God Feels Silent
There are seasons where God just feels far away.
You pray and it feels like the words hit the ceiling. You open your Bible and nothing lands. Everyone around you seems to be thriving in their faith and you're just... stuck.
If that's you right now, read this slowly.
"Be still and know that I am God." - Psalm 46:10
Notice what it doesn't say.
It doesn't say "try harder and know that I am God." It doesn't say "do more." It doesn't say "figure it out and then come back to Me."
Be still.
Sometimes the reason we can't hear God isn't because he stopped talking. It's because we forgot how to stop. We're scrolling, stressing, overthinking, replaying conversations in our heads at 2am, rehearsing arguments with people who aren't even in the room.
God's voice isn't always loud. Sometimes it's the quietest thing in the room. And if every other voice in your life is shouting, you're going to miss it.
Stillness isn't laziness. It's obedience.
YOUR ONE THING FOR TODAY
Find five quiet minutes. Put your phone in another room. Don't ask God for anything. Don't try to pray the "right" way. Just sit and say "God, I'm here."
That's it. That's enough. He'll meet you there.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
God, I'm tired of striving. I'm tired of feeling like I need to perform for you. Help me to just be still today. Remind me that you're with me even when I can't feel you. I don't need all the answers right now. I just need you. Amen.
God bless you, my friend.
