Yesterday we looked at the birds on the wire. Today, let’s look at a man who was fed by them. Elijah had just told King Ahab there would be no rain. Years of drought. Nothing growing. A nation on its knees. And then God said this. Read the verse.
Jesus said one thing about provision that most Christians can quote and almost none of us actually live. He pointed at the birds. Six words that cut through almost every anxious conversation we have ever had with ourselves about money, work, security, and the future. He pointed at the birds,
It’s Sunday. No teaching today. No deep dive. Just one verse from a Psalm David wrote when he was watching people around him succeed by all the wrong means, and his instinct was to grip, to fix, to control. He talks himself down with a sentence worth sitting with
Saturday is deep dive day. On Saturdays we take one thing from the week and look at what it actually says in the original language, because sometimes the English carries a lot less than the Greek was carrying. Today, one Greek word that reshapes what the whole act of surrender
You can usually tell someone is gripping something before they can. The sideways comment about the thing they claim not to care about. The 3am mental loop they can't explain. The visible flinch when someone brings up a specific topic. The way their body tightens when a certain
Surrender, like trust, like prayer, like every spiritual muscle, will not build itself from an idea. You can read about it. You can nod at the Sunday sermon on it. You can even talk about it in your small group. And still, when the moment comes to actually hand something

This is probably the most relatable story in the entire Bible and almost nobody talks about it properly. Elijah had just had the single greatest day of his life. He stood on Mount Carmel, alone, facing 450 prophets of Baal. The whole nation was watching. He challenged them to a
People love to say that "do not fear" appears 365 times in the Bible. One for every day of the year. It's a nice idea. It's also not exactly true. The number varies depending on the translation. But the point still stands. God talks
We've turned rest into something we have to earn. Finish the to-do list, then you can rest. Hit your goals, then you can rest. Read your 5 chapters, pray for 30 minutes, serve at church, disciple someone, share the gospel with a stranger, and THEN maybe you&
